13 Districts Allotted For Persecuted Minorities Who Will Apply For Indian Citizenship Under GOI Gazette Notification Released On 28th May 2021/ JYAISTHA 7, 1943

As subject Citizenship comes under Union List, Ministry of Home Affairs of India, under the Foreigners Division, released Gazette Notification on 28th May 2021 to invite all the person belonging to the Minority community (Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis, Christians only)  in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Bangladesh to apply for Indian Citizenship under section 5, 6 and 16 of the Citizenship Act, 1955.





13 districts have been allotted for this event in which the responsibility is given to the collectors of respective districts. The following districts are as follows;

Morbi, Rajkot, Patan, and Vadodara in the State of Gujarat,
Durg and Balodabazar in the State of Chhattisgarh, 
Jalore, Udaipur, Pali, Barmer, and Sirohi in the State of Rajasthan,
Faridabad in the State of Haryana,
Jalandhar in the State of Punjab.

Refugees are feeling happy after this release of the Gazette notification by the Government of India. Hence, CAA is playing its role. However, the rules for the CAA are yet to be framed. The applicants will have to apply online and the citizenship certificate will be provided after verification of the documents. In case of any mismatching, the secretary or the collector of a particular district can transfer the documents to the security agency for better results.
